NFL Betting Online – Offensive Shootout Expected Between Bengals and Patriots

September 23rd, 2022 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

There could be a lot of points scored on Sunday in NFL betting online when the New England Patriots host the Cincinnati Bengals.  Both teams have offenses that can put points on the board so it could be an NFL betting shootout on Sunday. The Patriots are 4-point favorites at Sbg global.com with the total on the game listed at 45.  The offensive talent on both sides of the ball is excellent with the Patriots having Tom Brady and Randy Moss while the Bengals have Carson Palmer and the receiving duo of Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens.

Palmer vs. New England’s Secondary – If you like New England in this game then you have to be extremely concerned about a young and inexperienced secondary.  They looked terrible in the preseason and they face a Cincinnati passing attack that has Owens, Ochocinco and rookie tight end Jermaine Gresham. The Bengals can also run the ball with Cedric Benson. It just seems unlikely that New England will slow down the Bengals offense.

Why is New England a 4-point favorite?  You can make a case that New England shouldn’t be laying this many points to the Bengals in NFL betting online.  Last season Cincinnati won the AFC North and they look better than they did a year ago.  The Patriots are at home but they have some definite weaknesses.  Teams simply don’t fear New England anymore.  The Patriots are at home and they are a public team which is why they are laying points. The value in this game is with the Bengals as an underdog.

New England’s Offense – The Bengals have a good defense but they are not going to stop Tom Brady and the Patriots.  Brady has Moss and Wes Welker to throw to and he should have a good day against Cincinnati’s defense.  The Patriots will need to score because their defense is unlikely to shutdown Cincinnati.

Over the Total – The over really looks to be a solid play on Sunday. Three of the last four meetings in this series have gone over in NFL betting. 10 of the last 13 New England openers have gone over the total.  The Patriots have gone under in three of their last five home games but their defense just doesn’t seem to be any good.
