NFL Betting – Miami Totally Focused on Winning Opener at Buffalo

If there was ever a must-win game in Week 1 NFL betting then it is this one for the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at Buffalo. The Dolphins are sick of their slow starts and they are demanding a win at Buffalo.  When you get ready to make your NFL bet on this game you will see that Miami is a 3-point favorite at the Sbg global sportsbook. If you believe the Miami coaches and players then laying the three points on Sunday might be the way to go.  Head coach Tony Sparano has made it a point that every player on the team knows that winning the opener is a high priority.  The Dolphins went 0-3 to start last season and 0-2 the year before.  They are sick of it. They have lost four openers in a row and want to end that streak.

Miami’s Talent – The Dolphins simply have more talent than the Bills. There is no question about it. The only player on Buffalo that worries you if you bet Miami is C.J. Spiller. He has looked great in the preseason for the Bills as he had 122 yards and three touchdowns in three games. Other than that, the Bills don’t worry you. Miami added Brandon Marshall and Karlos Dansby in the off-season so they should be better on offense and on defense.

Must Win Game for Miami – The Dolphins simply have to win this game. They go to Minnesota in Week 2 and then host the Jets and Patriots.  After their bye week they have Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati and Tennessee.  It is a brutal schedule that will be tough enough even if they win this game against the Bills.

Bucking the Trends – The trends are going to point to Buffalo since Miami has not won there in five years and they are 3-8-1 against the NFL betting number in their last 12 meetings against the Bills.  Too bad.  Miami simply has to win this game. Chad Henne needs to start fast and Brandon Marshall needs to have a big day.  If Marshall opens up the passing game then Ronnie Brown and Rickey Williams should have a field day against Buffalo’s defense.  The Dolphins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games so not every trend is against them. And keep in mind that the Bills are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games.

If you like to make an NFL bet on totals then keep in mind that the under is 9-4 in the Dolphins last 13 road games and that the under is 4-1 in the Bills last 5 games overall.
