NFL Betting – Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns

NFL betting odds have the Cleveland Browns favored over the Houston Texans on Sunday.Although the Browns are favored in NFL odds Week 12 numbers, the Texans definitely have a chance in this game.  Cleveland has underperformed all year and gamblers making football bets are very leery of taking the Browns.

NFL trends show that Cleveland has won three of the five all-time meetings against Houston.  The Browns are also 3-2 against the NFL pointspread in those games.  This only the third game between the two teams at Cleveland and the Browns have won both of the previous contests fairly easily.  They won 27-17 in 2007 and 34-17 in 2002 according to NFL betting results.  Houston has not been a very good road underdog in recent seasons, winning less than 50% of the time according to NFL betting statistics.  The Browns have actually been a good home favorite since 2005, winning over 60% of the time according to NFL betting numbers.

Looking at NFL betting trends on the total we find that the last four meetings have gone under the total.  Betting Cleveland or Houston games under the NFL total this year has been risky since neither team has shown much of a defense.  The Browns rank near the bottom of the league according to NFL numbers while Houston is not a whole lot better.  The offensive numbers in this matchup definitely favor Houston.  The Browns rank near the bottom of the NFL in offense while the Texans are in the Top 10 according to NFL stats.  The Texans have been a slight over team on the road since 2005 according to NFL betting numbers.

Gamblers making football bets are a little more inclined to take Cleveland in NFL odds Week 12 action now that Brady Quinn is at quarterback, especially since Sage Rosenfels will probably still be at the helm for Houston with Matt Schaub injured.
