NFL Betting – Falcons Favored to Fly over Arizona

The Atlanta Falcons are 0-1 while the Arizona Cardinals are 0-1 but the Falcons are favored in NFL betting to soar over the Cardinals on Sunday.

The Falcons lost in overtime last week to Pittsburgh while Arizona got past St. Louis.  The Falcons were a hot NFL bet by many before the season and last week against the Steelers but they did not look good at all in the loss to Pittsburgh.Early Must-Win for the Falcons – This is simply a game that Atlanta cannot lose.  The Saints started with a win and the Falcons can’t be losing to Arizona at home if they want to win the NFC South and challenge the defending Super Bowl champs.

Home Team Series – This has been a home team series recently. The Cardinals won at home last season 30-24 and they won three years ago 30-27. The Falcons won in Atlanta in 2006 by a score of 32-10 and they won in 2004 by a score of 6-3.

Gutless Falcons – The Falcon did nothing last week against a Pittsburgh team that was playing it safe.  Quarterback Matt Ryan was 27 of 44 for 252 yards but he threw an interception late that really hurt. Roddy White had 13 catches for 111 yards in the loss.  Atlanta was a very popular NFL bet last week and gamblers were extremely disappointed.

Arizona did just enough last week to get the win against the Rams.  Larry Fitzgerald caught a TD late in the fourth quarter as the Cardinals came back to beat the Rams 17-13.  Quarterback Derek Anderson was 22 for 41 for 297 yards and Steve Breaston caught seven balls for 132 yards.  Arizona was not explosive on offense but they came out of St. Louis with a win and that is all that matters.

Falcons a TD Favorite – The Falcons are laying about a touchdown in this game on Sunday.  Atlanta has been a good home team in recent seasons and gamblers might be willing to forget last week’s loss at Pittsburgh.  Most people at the Sbg global sportsbook still don’t believe in Arizona with Derek Anderson at quarterback so look for the Falcons to get the bulk of the NFL betting action in this contest.
