Atlanta had a weak offense that was 23rd in the league and a bad defense that ranked 29th according to NFL stats. Matt Ryan will be expected to upgrade the offense and he should get some help with new running back Michael Turner who the Falcons got from San Diego.

NFL betting numbers show that the Lions were 2-6 versus the football betting number on the road last season. The Falcons were 2-5 against the NFL number as a home dog last year. In the last seven years the two teams have met four times and split the games according to NFL numbers. At Atlanta the teams have split their two meetings according to football betting numbers. The last time they played in the regular season the Lions won 17-10 according to football betting history.
