NFL betting- Colts will run against Chargers

NFL betting fans have a full plate of excellent playoff action this week. If you’re looking to make an NFL bet this weekend one NFL betting match up you might consider is the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the San Diego Chargers.
NFL betting experts have made the Colts early and huge favorites over the Bolts. The average NFL betting line for the game leading up to contest favored the Colts by 8 ½ points. It’s never wise to bet against Peyton Manning and this is especially true considering the fact that Colts are still the reigning NFL champions. The team knows what it takes to win in the playoffs as demonstrated by last year’s NFL betting Super Bowl trophy.

However, there are a number of questions surrounding this team as it returns to NFL action after a week off. The team is missing two of its integral members on the defensive line and without Dwight Freeney and Booger McFarland this unit lacks the toughness it displayed last year in its NFL post season run. Also Marvin Harrison will be back in action after missing ten games in the NFL regular season and he’s bound to have some rust on his game.

But all things being equal that will not be enough to lead to an upset by the Chargers. For one thing, the Colts have the great eraser of any mistakes in QB Peyton Manning who is still the best QB in NFL action. And even though the defensive line is diminished somewhat, overall the Colts defense is much better than it was last year and is as perhaps the best unit left in NFL action right now. As for Harrison, the rest likely helped him out and he and Manning should have no problem getting on the same page in the NFL action.

The Chargers have shown glimpses of brilliance throughout the NFL season and beat the pants off the Titans last week with plenty of LT and smothering defense. Unfortunately for NFL betting fans of the Chargers, that will not happen again this week. Phil Rivers is likely to have a melt down and the Chargers defense will not be able to stop the Colts offense.

If you’re looking to make an NFL bet pick the Colts to win outright. And if you’re feeling frisky you might even go so far as picking the Colts to cover the point spread as well.
