The Arizona Cardinals are big underdogs in NFL betting at Minnesota this week with Derek Anderson at quarterback. The Cardinals have played musical chairs at quarterback this season and they will be making a chance this week as they go back to Anderson in place of Max Hall. If you are considering the Cardinals with an NFL bet then you have to like Anderson over Hall.
Derek Anderson
There is no question that Derek Anderson can play poorly and make mistakes but he does have a big arm and he can make plays. After seeing Max Hall at quarterback there is not much question that Anderson gives Arizona a better chance to win. Anderson started the first four games of the season before being replaced by Max Hall. Last week Anderson relieved Hall and played pretty well even though the Cardinals lost 38-35 to Tampa Bay. Anderson was 16 of 24 passes for 234 yards. The problem for Anderson is interceptions but at least with Anderson the Cardinals can move the ball. Hall simply can’t get the job done and he was terrible against Seattle and Tampa Bay.
Arizona Numbers
Somehow the Cardinals are 3-4 and very much in the NFC West race. They are just a game behind Seattle for the division lead. Anderson at least gives the passing game a chance. The Cardinals have good receivers in Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston and if the Cardinals can throw the ball then Beanie Wells should find running room. The Cardinals are next to last in the league in yardage but they should improve with Anderson running the show. The defense for Arizona has also been horrible. They are 27th in yards allowed and next to last in points allowed. How is this team a game under .500? Somehow the Cardinals are in the race. They face a Minnesota team that is in total disarray. It is not out of the question for the Cardinals to shock everyone and go into Minnesota and win against the NFL betting line. Why not? The Vikings are a mess and their offense doesn’t look to be any good other than Adrian Peterson. Arizona could be a team to consider this week with your NFL bet at SBG.
