NFL Betting – Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants

NFL betting on Sunday has the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants at home against the Baltimore Ravens. These two teams have only met three times since the Ravens moved to Baltimore and the Ravens won all three games for gamblers that bet on football.

NFL statistics show that the last time the teams met in 2004, the Ravens won 37-14.  The other two meetings were in New York and the Ravens won 34-7 in 2001 and 24-23 in 1997 according to NFL betting stats.  Obviously the two teams are vastly different in 2008 according to experts that bet on football as the Giants are defending champs while the Ravens are rebuilding.  New York will be popular with gamblers that bet on football but the Ravens have shown the ability to win games with rookie quarterback Joe Flacco.  We all know about the success of the Giants on the road but they have been solid at home as well according to NFL betting stats. They are over 50% laying points at home since 2005 according to NFL  numbers.

All three of the meetings between the Ravens and Giants in the past have gone over the NFL betting total.  That might not be the case on Sunday as both teams have excellent defenses according to NFL statistics.  The Ravens have also been a super under team since 2005 on the road according to NFL information. They have gone under almost 70% of the time in that situation according to NFL betting numbers.

The Giants definitely have the offensive edge with Eli Manning throwing the ball according to NFL experts. Flacco is exciting but he does not have the experience that Manning has. The defensive edge could also go to New York according to gamblers that bet on football even though Baltimore has the reputation for being tough defensively.  New York rarely gets their due on defense from many gamblers that wager on NFL odds.
