NFC West NFL Draft Odds

NFL Draft odds for the NFC West should see a lot of action with the St. Louis Rams picking 2nd, the Seattle Seahawks 4th and the San Francisco 49ers 10th. The Arizona Cardinals won’t get much attention in NFL Draft betting since they don’t pick until 31st in the first round.

NFL Draft odds predict that St. Louis will take Baylor offensive tackle Jason Smith with the 2nd pick in the draft.  If the Lions somehow shock the world and take Smith with the first pick instead of Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford then things could change but the consensus is that Smith will go #2 to the Rams in NFL Draft odds.

NFL Draft odds on Seattle at #4 are a lot more difficult to predict.  The Seahawks still have a lot of talent on their team and last year’s poor finish was unexpected.  The Seahawks do have some needs, especially on defense and the likely pick at #4 in NFL Draft odds is Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry.  If the Seahawks decide to take a quarterback then they could reach for USC’s Mark Sanchez here.  NFL Draft odds also show that Seattle could take Boston College’s B.J. Raji or Texas’ Brian Orakpo if Curry is not available at #4.

The San Francisco 49ers sit at #10 in NFL Draft odds and their pick could be very interesting.  Sanchez could slip down to this spot and the 49ers could take him here in NFL Draft odds.  If he is gone they will probably go for defense in NFL Draft odds and someone like Penn State defensive end Aaron Maybin would fit the bill.  If they decided to take a reach they could go for an offensive lineman in NFL Draft odds and take Alabama’s Andre Smith.

Arizona picks next to last in the first round of NFL Draft betting and anything is possible for the Cardinals with this pick.  The most likely scenario in NFL Draft odds for the Cardinals has them taking a running back since Edgerin James is getting older and Tim Hightower may or may not be the answer.  They could be looking at a player like Ohio State’s Chris Wells, or Connecticut’s Donald Brown with this NFL Draft betting selection.

Of all the division in the NFL, the NFC West has the most top 10 picks with three.  The NFC West may not be the best division in football but they are going to have a huge impact in NFL Draft betting this year.
