New York Jets at Tampa Bay Bet on Football

Bet on football favors the New York Jets on Sunday as the visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Jets are hoping that quarterback Mark Sanchez can go in this game the signs are positive. New York is back in the playoff hunt in the AFC so this is a game in NFL betting that they have to win.

Bet on football saw the Jets get a huge win against the Buffalo Bills last week 19-13 although Sanchez did sprain his right knee. The quarterback didn’t practice on Monday but head coach Rex Ryan was optimistic his quarterback would go. “He’s so much better,” Ryan said. “We thought we were going to get good news from the MRI, we did. Just the way he’s approaching his treatment and rehab and everything else, you can tell he is definitely willing. That’s for sure.”

Bet on football numbers would drop if Sanchez can’t go. Kellen Clemens is the backup for the Jets and although he has experience, the Jets are not the same team with him at quarterback. New York is 6-6 in the AFC and just a game back of the New England Patriots in the AFC East. The Bucs are 1-11 straight up this season and a poor 4-8 against the spread.

Those that bet on football do have some concerns about taking the Jets in this game even though the Bucs have been terrible. Here are some of those numbers:

The Jets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 14.
The Jets are 1-5 in NFL betting in their last 6 games in December.

Tampa has poor NFL betting numbers all the way around.
The Buccaneers are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
The Buccaneers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 14.
The Buccaneers are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games in December.
The Buccaneers are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 home games.

Those that bet on football totals may look at the under in this game. Eight of the last nine December New York games have gone under the bet on football total. Five of the last eight New York road games have gone under in NFL betting. The only thing that points to a high scoring game in this bet on football matchup is that eight of the last ten Tampa Bay games in December have gone over.
