New York Jets at San Diego NFL Betting

NFL betting favors the San Diego Chargers as they host the New York Jets on Sunday in NFL playoff action. Those that bet on football can see this game on CBS television.  The Chargers had a bye last week in NFL betting while the Jets upset the Bengals in the Wild Card round.

NFL betting has San Diego as more than a touchdown favorite against the Jets.  San Diego is still considered a leading Super Bowl contender but they have to face a New York team that is very confident. “It breaks down to this: If we can win three games, we are world champions,” New York head coach Rex Ryan said.  Of the eight remaining teams in the playoffs the Jets are the longshots but they do have a few things going for them, including a confident head coach. “We’ve won six out of seven and we feel pretty good about ourselves,” Ryan said.

The New York Jets have a couple of things that other teams don’t have so they shouldn’t be discounted in NFL betting. New York has the best defense in the league and the best rushing offense.  In the playoffs, running the ball and playing defense works pretty well.  The Jets had 171 rushing yards last week in the NFL betting win over Cincinnati.

New York now faces a red-hot San Diego team that has been tough to stop. San Diego has a great passing attack led by quarterback Philip Rivers but the Jets have the defense to give them trouble.  New York has been excellent on the road in NFL betting of late. The Jets are 4-0 vs. the bet on football odds in their last 4 road games.  New York has been good in January as they are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in January. They are also a very good underdog for those that bet on football as they are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as an underdog. The Jets are 4-1 in NFL betting in their last 5 meetings against San Diego.

San Diego has been excellent in NFL betting in a lot of areas. The Chargers are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games in January. The Chargers are 6-2-1 vs. the NFL betting odds in their last 9 games overall.

Six of the last eight New York games vs. AFC teams have gone over in NFL betting. Five of the last six San Diego games have gone over for those that bet on football. In this series, four of the last five have gone over the NFL betting number.
