So too among the top surprises so far in pro football are the first place Redskins.  Indeed, Washington leads the NFC East after their win over Dallas.  In the first place the Redskins have one of the top defenses in the NFL.  Jay Gruden is proving to be a solid NFL coach.  In contrast are the struggling New Your Giants.  While Eli Manning gets much of the blame Big Blue has a multitude of problems.  Among their Betting on NFL issues is one of the worst defenses in pro football. Additionally, a horrible ground game offers Manning zero support.

Washington Redskins

Washington is 4-2 both straight up and against the spread with four of their games going under the total.  Last week the Redskins covered a 20-17 home win over arch rival Dallas.  On the whole Washington boasts the NFL’s fifth ranked defense.  This has helped cover for an offense that ranks 25th in the league for scoring.  Alex Smith has been efficient though unspectacular as quarterback.  In brief Smith has a 91.9 rating with seven touchdowns and two interceptions.

New York Giants

To begin with the Giants have been one of the worst looking teams in the NFL.  Starting with a record of 1-6 straight up and 3-4 vs. the odds.  Last week Big Blue did get the money in a 23-20 loss in Atlanta.  More emphatically neither side of the line offers much in the way of positives.  To illuminate New York ranks 27th in the NFL for scoring offense and 26th for scoring defense.  Eli Manning has a 94.1 rating with seven touchdowns and four interceptions.  In particular the Giants 30th ranked ground game offers no support.

Stats to Consider

Washington has been a subpar betting on NFL value on the road recently.  For example, the Redskins have paid in just three of their last nine away from home.  Also, they have gone under the total in three of their last four road tilts.  Balanced against that is the Giants gushing red ink at MetLife Stadium.  To show, New York has paid in just three of their last 11 home games.  Five of Big Blue’s last seven games at MetLife Stadium have gone under the total.

Team vs. Team

Washington has had the recent online wagering advantage with New York.  Consider the Redskins covering three of their last five with the Giants.  Four of the last five between these teams have gone under the total.  But at MetLife Stadium the Giants have had a strong edge with the Redskins.  New York has paid in four of their last five home games with Washington.  And six of the last eight in this series at MetLife Stadium have gone under the total.

Matchup to Watch

Most important of all for this matchup is Washington’s defensive edge.  Likewise, the Giants lack any sort of Betting on NFL balance.  Manning is all they have.  Equally important is that the Redskins are in good form.

Redskins vs. Giants Betting on NFL Picks

To conclude the Giants are playing too poorly to rate a recommendation.
