Last year the Giants finished 5-11 straight up, 8-7-1 vs. the odds, and 9-7 over the total. New York finished 17th for total offense and 16th for scoring. However, the fact remains that the end is near and New York is eyeing the future with Jones.

Barkley Emerges

Counter to the misery of the Giants season was the great rookie season of Saquon Barkley. In 2018 he ran for 1307 yards, 5.0 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns. Barkley demonstrated that he will be a betting on NFL asset going forward. Just as important he will keep enemy defenses honest.

In this situation, New York brings an improved and balanced offense. Counter to that is a defense that was one of the worst in the NFL. Four of the Giants first five draft picks were defensive players. Defensive coordinator James Bettcher will be on a hot seat from the opening kickoff.
