New York Giants at Denver NFL Betting

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

NFL betting on Thanksgiving has a late game on the NFL Network as the Denver Broncos host the New York Giants.

Both teams come into this game at 6-4 but it is the Giants who are favored in football betting on the road in this matchup.  This game has the potential to be a very good one in NFL betting since the Broncos are at home and in desperate need of a win.

NFL betting has the Giants a 6-point road favorite against the Broncos.  Denver has now lost four straight after winning their first six games and things have not gone well with the low point being last week when they were routed at home by San Diego in football betting.   Turnovers really hurt Denver in the NFL betting loss to the Chargers and even a heroic effort from quarterback Kyle Orton could not save them as the team continually struggled. "Close doesn’t count in this league," said Orton, "That’s the stuff that has got to stop. It’s just got to stop. Somehow, we’ve got to find a way to get points."  Orton finished 15 of 29 for 171 yards and received a ton of respect from his teammates for playing hurt. "He came in there and showed a lot of leadership coming out there playing hurt," receiver Jabar Gaffney said. "He did some great things, moved us up and down the field."  Orton expects to be ready for Thursday’s NFL betting matchup against the Giants.

The Giants were able to get past Atlanta last week after blowing a 14-point lead.  It ended a four-game losing streak and got the Giants back into the middle of the NFC Playoff picture. "It has been a long time," said Eli Manning, "Someone said it had been 42 days since our last win. It has felt like it, too.”  Eli Manning had a big day and the Giants got the overtime victory over the Falcons.

New York has won five of the last eight meetings against the Broncos although the teams have not met that often in NFL betting.  The last football betting meeting was four years ago in New York and the Giants pulled out a 24-23 win.  The only other meeting this decade was in 2001 as the Broncos won 31-20 at home and covered the NFL betting number.  Both of those games went over the football betting total.
