December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Football betting is likely to be popular again on the unbeaten New Orleans Saints as they travel to Miami on Sunday to play the Dolphins.

New Orleans has been unstoppable on offense this NFL betting season as they are averaging 38.4 points per game, most in the league.

Football betting has the Saints favored by 6 points at Miami. The Dolphins actually lead the all-time series against the Saints 6-3 and have won three of the last five football betting meetings against New Orleans. The Dolphins had a bye last week and they are 12-8 after their bye week.

New Orleans is 5-0 for the first time since 1993. The only time they started a season with more wins was in 1991 when they started 7-0. Last week the Saints were superb as they had 493 yards against the Giants while the defense forced two turnovers. Quarterback Drew Brees was 23-of-30 for 369 yards with four touchdowns.

New Orleans has not trailed in a game this season. They could be tested in NFL betting by a Miami team that has won two in a row. The Dolphins will try and run the ball and keep the powerful New Orleans offense off the field.

The last time the Saints and Dolphins met in NFL betting was in 2005 as the Dolphins won 21-6. Three games in the football betting series have been decided by a touchdown or less, one by a field goal. The Saints have never won against the Dolphins in Miami.

New Orleans has a lot of positive football betting trends in this game. The Saints are 4-0 in football betting vs. a team with a losing record. The Saints are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a road favorite. The Saints are 17-5 in football betting in their last 22 games as a favorite.

Miami has some decent NFL betting trends as well. The Dolphins are 6-1 vs. the football betting odds in their last 7 games in October, and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a bye week. The one concern would be that the Dolphins are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a home football betting underdog

In regards to the football betting total, 13 of the last 18 games on the road when the Saints are favored have gone over. 11 of the last 16 Miami games have gone under the football betting total.
