Houston Texans at Cincinnati NFL Betting

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

NFL betting favors the 4-1 Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday as they host the 2-3 Houston Texans.

The Bengals have been one of the biggest surprises this football betting season and they are favored at home against the Texans.

NFL betting has the Bengals as 4.5 point favorites with a total of 45. The Bengals are coming off another great comeback win as last week they defeated the Baltimore Ravens, while the Texans are coming off a tough loss against Arizona where they had a chance to tie the game but were stopped at the goal line. The question in this NFL betting matchup will be the carryover effect. Will the Bengals suffer a letdown or will the Texans be deflated. Houston cornerback Dunta Robinson does not believe the Texans will have any hangover from the Arizona loss. "No, I don’t. And you know, those are the things you can’t worry about. If you lose a game, there’s no sympathy. The next team doesn’t have sympathy for you. They’re trying to win the football game. So we have to put it behind us and get ready to go.” he said, “We’re facing a 4-1 team who’s a tipped ball away from being 5-0, you know what I mean? So it’s going to be a tough football game. So whatever happened in Arizona, we’ve got to put that behind us and get ready to go win a football game in Cincinnati."

For the Texans to win this NFL betting matchup they will have to contain Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer and running back Cedric Benson. The Texans do have a football betting trend in their favor. They are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a road underdog. The problem for those backing the Texans in NFL betting is that Houston is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games in October.

Cincinnati also has some interesting NFL betting trends. The Bengals are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall but the Bengals are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 vs. the AFC. They have not played well in October either as they are 5-16-2 ATS in their last 23 games in October.

If you are looking to wager on the football betting total you should keep in mind that four of the last five Houston road games have gone under. Eight of the last eleven Houston games overall have gone under the NFL betting total. The last five times Cincinnati has been favored at home the game has gone football betting under.
