Hall Fame game action for the 2008 preseason will kick off on Sunday, August 3rd in Canton, Ohio just after 8:00 pm Eastern time as the Washington Redskins face the Indianapolis Colts.

The game will be televised by NBC. Hall fame game betting begins pro football betting for the 2008 season. The Redskins are about a touchdown favorite in the game with a total of 31.5.

Hall fame game is played the day following the induction of the newest class of players that are enshrined into the Hall of Fame. The Class of 2008 is defensive end Fred Dean, cornerback Darrell Green, wide receiver Art Monk, cornerback Emmitt Thomas, linebacker Andre Tippett, and tackle Gary Zimmerman.

This is the second straight time that Washington will have a new coach for the Hall Fame game. Back in 2004 the Redskins defeated Denver 20-17 in the return of Joe Gibbs to Washington. The 2008 Hall Fame game will mark the coaching debut of Jim Zorn. He comes over from Seattle and is expected to bring a wide open style of offense to Washington. The Redskins have three other wins in Hall Fame game action in their history. They defeated the Detroit Lions in 1965, the Cincinnati Bengals in 1975 and the Buffalo Bills in 1989.

The Colts were last involved in the Hall Fame game back in 1996 and they got a 10-3 win over he New Orleans Saints in Hall Fame game betting. The other Hall Fame game results for Indianapolis had them beating the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 1964 and losing to the Minnesota Vikings in 1982. The Colts will be without quarterback Peyton Manning in this year’s game as he continues to recover from an injury.

Of the last eight games in Hall Fame betting the game has gone under the total five times including the last two seasons. The 2006 Hall Fame game saw Oakland beat Philadelphia 16-10 while the 2007 Hall Fame game had Pittsburgh beating New Orleans 20-7.
