Bills Have a History of Good Teams and Close Calls
The Buffalo Bills were founded in 1960 as charter members of the American Football League. Since that season, they have shared the same division with the New York Jets and New England Patriots. And the Miami Dolphins joined the division in 1966 as an expansion team.
Buffalo was an AFL powerhouse in the mid-1960s, winning the league title in 1964 and 1965. However, for most of the next two decades, the Bills wallowed in mediocrity. But with the arrival of quarterback Jim Kelly and head coach Marv Levy, Buffalo made four consecutive Super Bowls from 1990 through 1993. The Buffalo Bills will open the NFL season on Thursday, September 8, at the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. NBC owns the tradition of televising the season’s opening game each year on a Thursday night. Last year, the Bills and Rams could have been the Super Bowl matchup. Thus, this game is a potential preview for Super Sunday in February 2023.
In week two, the Bills’ home opener is on ESPN Monday Night Football against the Tennessee Titans. Of great concern is that Tennessee is a team with a potential quarterback controversy.
From there, the Bills enter the toughest Pro football betting odds stretch of their schedule. To show, Week three brings a game at the Miami Dolphins followed by a matchup at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
