Football Betting – Favre and the Vikings Favored vs. Seattle

The Minnesota Vikings host the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday and Minnesota is a 5-point football betting favorite. The Vikings have a number of issues heading into this game, mainly on offense but they are at home and the Seahawks have yet to prove they are any good.  The total in NFL football betting at Sbgglobal on this game is 38. Football betting on this game should favor the Vikings. Quarterback Brett Favre is expected to get some decent playing time and Minnesota has quality backup quarterbacks in Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels.

The Vikings do have some concerns on offense with Sidney Rice injured but they traded for Greg Camarillo this week and they still have one of the best running backs in football in Adrian Peterson.

Low Number:  This could be a low number on the Vikings. This is the third preseason game and Minnesota needs to make a statement.  Favre should have a good game against a weak Seattle defense. Peterson should score at least one TD and the receivers for Minnesota should do well.

This is really a good spot for Minnesota to get a win.  The Seahawks still don’t look like a good team even with a new head coach in Pete Carroll.  Matt Hasselbeck played better last week in the loss to Green Bay but he still looks old.

Second Half:  The second half should also favor Minnesota in this game.  They have Jackson and Rosenfels while Seattle has Charlie Whitehurst. Last week Whitehurst came back down to earth after playing well in the first game. He could find the going tough in the second half against a Minnesota defense on the road.

Vikings:  Nothing is for certain in the preseason as last week proved when the Vikings lost a cover on a safety at the end of the game, but all the signs point to a big Minnesota effort on Saturday.  They have been hearing all week about how bad the offense will be without Rice.

Look for Favre, Peterson and the others on the Minnesota offense to make a big statement against a Seattle team that is not very good.  Laying the points with Minnesota seems to be a solid play in NFL football betting.
