Football Odds – Ravens vs. Jets on Monday Night Football

November 28th, 2022 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

Monday Night Football is back and we get two games to start the season in football odds. The first one begins a little earlier than normal just after 7 pm Eastern as the New York Jets play the first regular season game at the New Meadowlands Stadium.  The Jets are 2.5 point favorites in NFL betting lines at SBG.This should be one of the best games of Week 1 as both teams are considered Super Bowl contenders.  Each team has a very good defense so the total should also be considered when you make your bet on this game.

Revis is Back – The Jets got great news last week when star cornerback Darrelle Revis finally signed. He will play on Monday night and probably to totally shut down Baltimore’s new receiver Anquan Boldin. The Ravens also added former Seattle wide receiver T. J. Houshmandzdeh this week and he may end up catching more balls than Boldin.

Total is 35.5 – The total on this game in NFL betting lines is 35.5 and it probably should be lower. The Jets had the top defense in the NFL last season and Baltimore’s was not far behind.  New York’s offense is nothing special so you would think this would be a low scoring game.

Baltimore’s Offense vs. New York’s Defense – The Ravens have an excellent running game led by Ray Rice and they have a good young quarterback in Joe Flacco.  If Revis had not signed then they might have been able to throw the ball to Boldin. That seems unlikely now.  They will have to run the ball with Rice and hope that Flacco can hit some short passes.

New York Offense vs. Baltimore’s Defense – The Jets also like to run the ball and they have Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson.  Quarterback Mark Sanchez could have some success against a Baltimore secondary that has some injury issues.

Looking at the Trends – The Ravens are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games in September but they are 1-3-1 against the football odds in their last 5 road games. The Jets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in September but they are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Monday games.  Here are the trends for the total.  The under is 5-1-1 in the Ravens last 7 road games. The Over is 4-1 in the Jets last 5 games overall.
