Football Betting on Tampa Bay at Buffalo

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Football betting on the Buffalo Bills was profitable last week even though they lost their opener against the New England Patriots.

The Bills easily covered the big NFL betting pointspread last week as they lost by one-point. This week they will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game they should win.

Football betting has the Bills a 5-point favorite with a total of 42. Last week the Bills should have won outright but they blew an 11-point lead with just over two minutes to play to lose 25-24. It was definitely not a good week for Buffalo cornerback Leodis McKelvin who fumbled a kickoff to give the Patriots their chance and then had his yard vandalized this week. "I chose to bring it out because that’s me," McKelvin said. "If I had that choice, probably 100 times, I’d do it again. Next time I get the opportunity, I’ve just got to do my job and make sure I hold onto the ball." His head coach didn’t have a problem with his decision either which is probably why this will be Dick Jauron’s last season. "It was one of those things that happen, but I don’t have any problem with Leodis," he said. "He’s a guy that plays hard. He’s a guy that really could take it to the house."

Buffalo is favored in football betting this week but it is always risky to take a team coached by Jauron. The team covered last week in football betting against the Patriots but they didn’t do much on offense getting Terrell Owens the ball. "He’s obviously a big-time weapon in our offense and we need to keep getting him the ball," quarterback Trent Edwards said.

Buffalo faces a Tampa Bay defense that was run over in football betting as they gave up 462 yards to the Cowboys in a bad NFL betting loss last week.

Football betting trends show that the Buccaneers are 6-2 in football betting in their last 8 games in September. The Buccaneers are 1-5 in football betting in their last 6 games overall.

The Bills are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in September, and 24-7-1 in NFL betting vs. a team with a losing record. The Bills are 0-5 in NFL betting in their last 5 home games.

The Over is 4-1 in football betting in the Buccaneers last 5 games overall and 9-3 in football betting in the Buccaneers last 12 road games. The Under is 4-1-1 in the Bills last 6 home football betting games.
