Football Betting – New York Jets at Denver Broncos

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

The New York Jets are favored on the road in football betting on Sunday as they visit the Denver Broncos.

If there was ever a spot for a letdown for the Jets then this is it. They are coming off a big home win in NFL football betting on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings and now they have to go to Denver before their bye week.

Jets -3, 41.5 at Sbggobal – The Jets are laying a field goal at Denver and the total on the game is 41.5.  New York is considered the top team in the NFL so they are a deserving favorite. If they can avoid a letdown they should win but it may not be easy.

Denver’s Passing – If the Broncos are going to win this game it will be on the arm of Kyle Orton.  Denver has no running game at all.  They are not likely to get anything against New York.  Orton is having a fantastic year and he could find some success in this game as it appears that Darrelle Revis may not play.  The key for Denver will be protecting Orton from a New York defense that loves to blitz.

New York’s Running – The Broncos were gashed last week for 233 yards but the Ravens so you can expect to see a lot of LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene on Sunday. The Jets love to run the ball anyway and they should have a field day against the Denver run defense.

Side Trends – The Jets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. They are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a road favorite. You would think that playing on Sunday following a Monday would be a problem but the Jets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in that situation. The Broncos are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a home underdog but they are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 vs. AFC. The Jets are 2-5 in NFL football betting in their last 7 meetings against Denver.

Total Trends – The Over is 4-0 in the Jets last 4 games overall. The Over is 5-1 in the Jets last 6 road games. The Over is 9-1 in the Broncos last 10 games overall. The Over is 5-1 in football betting in the Broncos last 6 games as an underdog. The Under is 12-4 in the Broncos last 16 home games. The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in this series in Denver.
