Football Betting – Giants Favored on the Road at Seattle

The New York Giants are almost a touchdown favorite on the road in football betting at Seattle on Sunday. The Giants are coming off their bye week while the Seahawks are coming off a bad loss last week against Oakland.  The Giants are getting the bulk of the action in this game in NFL football betting but it should be noted that the Seahawks are a far better team at home than on the road.

Giants -6.5, total 41 at the Sbg sportsbook
The Giants are favored in this game but Seattle has shown the ability to play well at home. They sure didn’t play well last week at Oakland as they were routed.  Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was punished and actually left the game with a concussion.  He is fine though and expected to start this game against the Giants on Sunday.

Protecting Hasselbeck
This game is likely to come down to whether or not the Seahawks can protect Hasselbeck. They didn’t do it last week and the Raiders sacked him eight times.  New York has a great defensive front so if Seattle can’t find a way to block the New York defensive line then they are going to have a hard time winning this game.

Turnovers
The Giants are considered the best team in the NFC but one problem they have had is turning the ball over.  New York beat Dallas a couple of weeks ago but they let the Cowboys back into the game by turning the ball over.  IF the Giants turn it over at Seattle they could be in big trouble since the Seahawks have one of the best crowds in the NFL and things could really snowball on New York.

Series History
The past two games between the Giants and Seahawks in Seattle have results in Seattle wins.  The Seahawks won 42-30 in 2006 while they won 24-21 in overtime in 2005. The Seahawks are perfect at home this season and they have won five of their last seven at home overall. The Seahawks are 4-0 in football betting in their last four games as home dogs. New York is a good road team though as they are 20-7 against the NFL football betting odds in their last 27 road games.
