Expected 2009 NFL Draft Predictions

2009 NFL Draft predictions can sometimes be tough to make but most experts agree that the Detroit Lions will select Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford with the #1 overall pick. NFL Draft odds predict that Stafford will go first and Jason Smith, an offensive tackle out of Baylor second to St. Louis.

2009 NFL Draft get a little interesting after the top two picks. The Chiefs select third and they need linemen. They will probably go for defense and select linebacker Aaron Curry out of Wake Forest. Seattle picks fourth and 2009 NFL Draft predictions had them taking Michael Crabtree out of Texas Tech. Although the Seahawks improved their receiving corps in the off-season they still may take Crabtree here in NFL Draft Odds.

2009 NFL Draft predictions for Cleveland at #5 lean to defense. 2009 NFL Draft show that the Browns could take defensive end Brian Orakpo out of Texas. Cincinnati has the 6th pick and could surprise everyone in 2009 NFL Draft predictions and take Chris Wells much earlier than he is predicted to go. It would be a popular pick since Wells was a star running back at Ohio State. The Raiders will probably go for a receiver in NFL Draft odds at #7. 2009 NFL Draft predictions show it will probably be Crabtree if he is still available or Jeremy Maclin from Missouri. The Raiders badly need a receiver and either of these two players would be a major upgrade.

Jacksonville might take Alabama tackle Andre Smith with the #8 pick in NFL Draft odds. Smith has fallen quite a bit in 2009 NFL Draft predictions but he should stay in the Top 10. Green Bay has the #9 pick and 2009 NFL Draft tell us they might go with cornerback Malcolm Jenkins out of Ohio State. San Francisco picks 10th and they could go with a defensive player for head coach Mike Singletary or they might choose offensive tackle Eugene Monroe out of Virginia in 2009 NFL Draft if he is still on the board.

Players in the rest of the Top 20 that might attract interest in 2009 NFL Draft predictions are Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis, Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno, Florida State defensive end Everette Brown, USC quarterback Mark Sanchez, defensive tackle B.J. Raji from Boston College, Penn State defensive end Aaron Maybin and wide receiver Percy Harvin from Florida.
