Dolphins Take Out Bills in Thursday Night Football

Bills players lining up against Browns playerThis Thursday night, the 13th of Nov. 2014, the 5-4 Buffalo Bills now (3rd AFC East) traveled to play the 5-4 Miami Dolphins now (2nd AFC East). Kickoff for the game was at 8:25 PM ET at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida and seen on NFL TV. Let’s recap the NFL betting action.

The Dolphins rallied late with 2 touchdowns to win the game over the Bills 22-9 with very little scoring in the first 3 quarters with the exception of 4 FG’s, with the Bills kicking 3 FG’s, and the Dolphins kicking 1 FG, then scoring a TD, followed by a safety, with the score at the end of 3 quarters, Buffalo 9 Miami 12.

The late touchdowns that decided the game were by Miami QB throwing a 7 yard TD to receiver Gibson and an 8 yard TD toss to receiver Landry. Actually the Dolphins trailed the Bills in the game, until the final 18 minutes as they outscored the Bills 19-0 and the win. That win gave the now 6-4 Dolphins their best record after playing 10 games since back in 2008.

The struggling Bills have been attempting to end their 14 year drought, actually dropped to 5-5 with their 2nd consecutive loss. In the past days the Bills have gone to pretenders, whereas before they had the possibilities of being contenders. The offensive leaders for the Buffalo Bills in this game were QB Orton, who completed 22-39 passes for 193 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions, and was sacked 2 times for a loss of 10 yards. RB’s Dixon & Brown combined for 16 carries for 49 yards, while Receivers Hogan & Brown combined for 14 receptions for 141 yards and no scores. The Bills has 13 first downs with 60 offensive plays for 237 yards, with 183 passing yards, and 54 rushing yards with no turnovers.

Leading the offense for the Miami Dolphins were QB Tannehill, who completed 26 of 34 passes for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns, while be sacked some 5 times for 35 yards. RB’s Miller & Thomas combined for 20 carries for 109 yards and no touchdowns, while Receivers Hartline & Landry combined for 8 receptions for 101 yards with Landry scoring 1 TD. The Dolphins had 24 first downs with 63 plays for 330 total yards, with 205 yards passing, and 125 yards rushing with 2 turnovers.

The Bills who are ranked last in NFL red zone offense, showed why as in this game they had two drives of 67 and 85 yards that resulted in field goals on both occasions, as the Dolphin defense held them both times. It was a tough day for QB Orton as the Miami defense blitzed him on 14 of his 40 plus drop backs, while sacking him twice.

So if you’re a Bills fan, you have to be disappointed, and surely the Dolphin fans who bet on NFL at a sportbook or with a local bookie, the next game for the Buffalo Bills now 5-5 is at home on the Sunday the 23rd of June against the New York Jets now 2-8 (4th AFC East) at 1 PM ET at their Ralph Wilson Stadium, and will be seen on CBS TV.
