February 24th, 2020 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

This past Sunday, as most fans expected, the Broncos beat the Raiders, the Green Bay Packers beat the Bears, and the Cowboys beat the Jaguars in London. But the Lions beating the Dolphins were unexpected after Miami last week shut out the Chargers 37-0! Let’s take a closer look at this game.

The NFL is known to present the unexpected, so we will give a brief recap of the Detroit Lions now 7-2 (1st AFC North) beating at home the Miami Dolphins now 5-4 (2nd AFC East) 20-16 at Ford Field and the game was on CBS TV.

This was an unexpected win even for the Lions who had the end of the 3rd quarter in the game they were trailing 13 -10 then on the start of 4th quarter Detroit kicked a FG bringing the score to 13-13, followed by a FG by Miami, now 16-13 then with less than a minute to go in the game Detroit’s QB Stafford hit RB Riddick for a 11 yard TD pass to seal the game for the Lions 20-16. In that last drive for the Lions, QB Stafford then completed his 1st five passes. Then on 3rd from the 11 yard he threw the 11 yard TD pass to Riddick for the win.

The game statistics are interesting as the Dolphins had 20 first downs on 60 plays for 228 total yards, with 178 yards passing and 50 yards rushing with 2 turnovers. The Lions on the other hand, had 19 first downs on 64 plays for 351 yards with 288 yards passing and 63 rushing with 1 interception.

The offensive leaders for the Dolphins were QB Tannehill, who completed 27 of 38 passes for 207 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception and he was sacked 3 times for 29 yards. RBs Williams & Thomas combined for 12 carries for 48 yards, while Receivers Landry & Wallace had 12 receptions combined for 104 yards with Wallace scoring 1 TD. Leading the Lions offense charge were QB Stafford, who completed 25 of 40 passes for 280 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interceptions and he was sacked 3 times for 19 yards. RBs Bell & Bush combined for 14 carries for 64 yards, while Receivers Johnson & Tate combined for 18 receptions for 222 yards with Johnson scoring 1 TD.

This was a very exciting game for the Miami and Detroit fans with both teams having top ranked defenses in their conferences. The Lions 2 times in the game ran fake punts on 4th downs, with one falling short, and the other making the 1st down. The Miami offense was not very productive in the game, as they only gained 228 yards, with 7 of their 11 drives in the game only entailed 5 offensive plays or less.

The fans that bet on NFL at a sportsbook can look forward now, to the upcoming games for the Dolphins and Lions in week 11. The Miami Dolphins now 5-4 next week play at home against the Buffalo Bills now also 5-4 (2nd AFC East) on Thursday on 13th of Nov.2014 at 8:25 PM ET and on NFL TV. Meanwhile the Detroit Lions now 7-2 play at the one loss Arizona Cardinals 8-1 (1st NFC West) on Sunday the 16th of Nov. at 4:25 PM ET and on Fox TV. Both games in week 11 should be very exciting!
