Detroit Lions at Seattle Bet on Football

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Bet on football heavily favors the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday as they host the Detroit Lions.

Seattle is 2-5 on the season but they are laying 10-points in this NFL betting contest. Bet on football has seen Detroit and Seattle combine to go 4-10 against the NFL betting pointspread this season. Both teams are 2-5 against the bet on football lines.

The Seahawks are at home though in this game and the Lions are not very good so Seattle is laying double-digits.  The Lions actually lost last week at home to the St. Louis Rams which shows just how bad Detroit is.  The Lions have an offense that has talent but only when Calvin Johnson is healthy. Recently he has not been so that is something to remember as you bet on football with the Lions.  Detroit has an exciting young quarterback in Matthew Stafford but he needs his top receiver to be effective.

Seattle started the season strongly but has looked terrible of late. The Seahawks have fallen to 2-5 and those that bet on football have been surprised with the Seahawks lack of success.  Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is healthy again this season but so far it has not mattered.  Seattle’s offense is below average and their defense is nothing special either.  At home though, Seattle is a team to be respected and bet on football odds have them a big favorite in this game.

Detroit is 2-5 in bet on football in their last 7 games overall. The Lions have not played well in the month of November and they are not done well against NFC teams. The Lions are 1-4 in NFL betting in their last 5 games in November. The Lions are 1-5 in bet on football in their last 6 vs. NFC.

The one area that Seattle does well in for those that bet on football is as a home favorite. The Seahawks are 9-3 vs. bet on football lines in their last 12 games as a home favorite.   The problem is that Seattle is just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 bet on football games overall.

Many of Detroit’s road games have been going over the bet on football total.  In fact, 21 of their last 28 road games have gone over the NFL betting total. On the other side, four of the last five Seattle home games have gone under for those that bet on football.
