Both Cincinnati and Dallas will play five preseason games this season and it is a very short turnaround for the Cowboys as they are favored in NFL preseason lines on Thursday as they host the Oakland Raiders.
2010 NFL preseason betting actually favored the Bengals in the Hall of Fame Game but it was the Cowboys who dominated the action as they covered the spread in a low scoring contest. The Bengals did nothing on offense until very late in the fourth quarter when they got their only TD. The Dallas starters didn’t play long. Quarterback Tony Romo was 5-for-10 for 59 yards. The Cowboys scoring for the most part game from kicker David Buehler who hit from 20, 34, and 23 yards. The Cowboys only touchdown of the game occurred when Brandon Sharpe intercepted a Jordan Palmer pass and returned it for a score.The game was a true preseason game, and neither team did much of anything. There were a total of eight sacks in the game and the Bengals committed a lot of penalties. Cincinnati committed 12 penalties in the game while Dallas committed four. The Dallas defense recorded three interceptions and they recovered a fumble. The Bengals also recovered a fumble in the contest. Cincinnati did get a nice night from punter Kevin Huber who averaged 46.4 yards per game on ten punts.
Cincinnati’s first string off-season didn’t do much although new addition Terrell Owens caught two balls from Carson Palmer for 18 yards. The Bengals TD came from Darius Hill who caught a TD from third string quarterback Jordan Palmer with less than a minute remaining. That TD was set up by rookie Jordan Shipley who ran back a punt 63 yards in the final minutes.
Dallas is a 4.5 point favorite at home on Thursday in NFL preseason lines as they host the Oakland Raiders. The line on Dallas seems a little high considering they just played on Sunday and will have very little rest before Thursday’s game. The Cincinnati Bengals are 3.5 point favorites on Sunday as they host the Denver Broncos.
