Climbing Titans Getting More NFL Betting Respect

2018 Tennessee Titans NFL Betting Futures

It follows that Tennessee’s first playoff season since 2008 has caused quite a buzz.  Additionally, the Titans have posted back to back 9-7 seasons.  In contrast with the terrible NFL betting results before that the team is resurgent.  But head coach Mike Mularkey was shown the door despite that success.  His “exotic smash mouth” offense lacked the metrics for sustained success.  And there was grumbling that Mularkey failed to fully develop Marcus Mariota.  While Tennessee is winning their numbers show much room for improvement.  As a result, handicappers still see potential upside with the Titans.

Mike Vrabel and Co.

Now serving as Titans head coach is Mike Vrabel.  He arrives from Houston where he served as defensive coordinator.  Previously he coached under legends Urban Meyer and Bill Belichick.  Also joining the staff is new offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur.  Supplementing LaFleur’s reputation are previous successful stops with the Falcons and Reams.  Take the case of how quickly LaFleur developed quarterbacks Jared Goff and Matt Ryan.  At last Mariota may have the partner he has needed in LaFleur to fully flourish.

Marcus Mariota

Certainly, Marcus Mariota has the charisma and raw ability to emerge as a true NFL betting asset.  However last year was his worst as a pro.  To show he tossed 15 interceptions compared to 13 touchdowns.  As a result, Mularkey was canned.  On the other hand, Mariota played his best football in the two playoff wins.  And yet despite the setback season optimism is a plenty with LaFleur’s arrival.  Veteran Blaine Gabbert arrives to serve as backup.  Following this is an offensive line that ranks as one of the best in football.  Two-time pro bowler Taylor Lewan anchors the unit.

Corey Davis

Wideout Corey Davis is expected to serve as number one receiver.  Though he struggled early in his rookie season he methodically began to show why he was a fifth overall draft pick.  Alternatively, Three-time pro bowler Delaine Walker returns.  Walker is a proven clutch performer.  Simultaneously possession receiver Rishard Matthews will offer Mariota another proven target.  In contrast is underrated running back Derrick Henry.  Following last season, he is expected to keep defenses honest.

Jurrell Casey

Defensive tackle Jurrell Casey leads a unit proven to be a sportsbook online asset.  As a matter of fact, Casey could be the lynchpin of a defense that catapulted the Titans to the post season last year.  Supplementing this was general manager Jon Robinson adding a pair of rookie linebackers.  Alabama tackling star Rashaan Evans was the number 22 overall pick.  Likewise, Boston College sack specialist Harold Landry was taken in the second round.  Equal in impact to Vrabel and LaFleur should be new defensive coordinator Dean Pees.

Matchup to Watch

Above all the AFC South is one of the most winnable divisions.  More emphatically it offers plenty of NFL betting opportunities.  Robinson has built a roster with no real weaknesses.  Correspondingly this is a playoff or bust campaign for Tennessee.

Tennessee Titans 2018 Futures Betting Odds Pick

To conclude Tennessee ranks as the second AFC South choice.  Indeed, Jacksonville is the top choice.  But a wild card playoff spot is certainly probable for the Titans.
