Cleveland Browns at Chicago Football Betting

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Football betting on Thursday will be focused on the Cleveland Browns quarterback battle.

Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson are still fighting for the starting job and that makes this bet on football game interesting.

Football betting has the Chicago Bears a 3-point favorite with a total of 36. Quinn has been better in the preseason than Anderson but not by enough of a margin to win the job yet.  He is 21-of-35 for 221 yards with a touchdown and an interception as football betting stats tell us.  Anderson is 15-of-26 for 207 yards with no TDs and two interceptions as bet on football stats indicate. "That’s all up to Coach. He hasn’t said anything to us," Anderson said. "We go to practice. All we can do is just continue to compete, try to do things we’re asked to do every week and let Coach be the one to make a decision." Quinn has said similar things. "Other than just trying to be the best we can every day, no, there’s nothing new," Quinn said. "We’ll continue to try to keep playing well, continue to get better, try to get a win."

Chicago is ready for the football betting regular season.  The Bears looked good last week against Denver winning 27-17 in football betting.  Quarterback Jay Cutler played well in his return to Denver, throwing for 144 yards and a TD as bet on football stats indicate.   He won’t play for long on Thursday so that means backups Caleb Hanie and Brett Basanez will decide the football betting outcome.

Football betting tells us that the Bears signed veteran cornerback Rod Hood to a one-year contract this week. Hood started 14 games and played in the Super Bowl for the Cardinals last year. "I just thank God that coach Lovie [Smith] gave me the opportunity to come back here, and I’m glad to be here," Hood said.

The Bears and Browns have met a lot in football betting preseason action.  The Browns lead the all-time football betting preseason series 16-8.  Last year the Bears won 16-10 in football betting in the preseason.

Normally you wouldn’t see a lot in football betting between these two teams since they meet in early November but with Anderson and Quinn competing for a starting job, there will be more action from Cleveland’s side.  The Browns have actually game planned a little bit for this game and that usually doesn’t happen much with a fourth preseason bet on football matchup.
