Cleveland at Chicago NFL Betting

December 1st, 2010 NFL Football

NFL betting heavily favors the Chicago Bears on Sunday as they host the Cleveland Browns.

Both teams were simply horrible last week in football betting as the Bears were blown away at Cincinnati while Cleveland was humiliated at home by Green Bay.  Here is a look at the matchup between the Browns and the Bears.

NFL betting on Chicago is going to be more popular than on Cleveland. Not many people want to back the 1-6 Browns in football betting.  The Browns have simply been poor all season.  The Browns have scored just four offensive touchdowns and 72 points all season.  Last week against Green Bay the Browns had 139 total yards.  Derek Anderson was terrible again as he was 12-of-29 for 99 yards. Cleveland has now lost eight straight home games. "We aren’t good right now," Anderson said. "That’s it. Period. We haven’t executed. We haven’t done the right things to win ballgames. We haven’t run the ball effectively, thrown it where we needed to. We haven’t protected up front like we need to and caught it when we need to."

The Browns are not likely to find many supporters in NFL betting this week on the road at Chicago.  Even their coach didn’t sound too optimistic after last week’s loss.  "It’s a very disappointing performance across the board," Mangini said. "I don’t think we played very well. I don’t think we coached very well. I thought we were making progress in a lot of areas. I don’t think we showed that today — at all."

Chicago wasn’t much better than Cleveland last week in NFL betting. They were simply run over at Cincinnati.  The Bears are at least 3-3 this season but they must get things turned around on Sunday in this NFL betting matchup against a poor Cleveland team. Anything less than a dominating performance won’t be tolerated by Chicago fans.

The Browns and Bears have met twice in NFL betting this decade.  The Browns won 20-10 at home back in 2005 while the Bears won 27-21 at home in 2001.

The key in this NFL betting game for Chicago will be getting their offense back on track.  Quarterback Jay Cutler was rolling along early in the football betting season but suddenly the Bears are struggling.  They had just 10 points against the Bengals and only 14 the previous football betting game against Atlanta.
