NFL betting lines have the Oakland Raiders big underdogs on Sunday at Denver and it probably doesn’t help Oakland’s chances that they are starting third-string quarterback Charlie Frye. The Raiders have struggled for the most part this season in football odds but with Bruce Gradkowski at quarterback there was at least some hope for the Raiders. NFL lines had the Raiders losing badly last week after Gradkowski was injured. The Raiders went with JaMarcus Russell last NFL lines week in relief of Gradkowski and Russell was terrible again.
The Raiders even signed former Buffalo quarterback J.P. Losman. The Raiders are so disenchanted with Russell that Frye is getting the start in this football odds matchup and Losman is getting a look. Frye hasn’t played at all this NFL lines season and was working with the scout team. “It will be good to get back out there with the offense and run some plays that aren’t on cards,” Frye said, “I’ve got a lot of fire in me. I’ve been that crutch and that supportive guy all season, so now it’s my turn to be the fiery leader.”
Russell was the starter for the Raiders in their first nine NFL betting lines games. He was benched for Gradkowski and things turned around for the Raiders in football odds. Russell was booed last week by the home crowd as he threw for only 74 yards in the football odds loss. It looks like Russell’s days with the Raiders and perhaps in the NFL are numbered. Where Oakland goes for a quarterback is the NFL lines question. Gradkowski would be a good choice but his contract specifies a huge bonus so it is unlikely the Raiders will pay him. That could be why they want to take a look at Losman over the last three NFL lines contests.
The Raiders are 4-9 straight up this season and 6-7 against the NFL betting lines. Oakland is not expected to be competitive this week at Oakland in NFL betting lines but this is a rivalry game so the Raiders might at least show up for a little while. It all depends upon how ready Charlie Frye is to play quarterback. Considering he hasn’t seen any action and has a losing record in his NFL betting lines career, it doesn’t look to promising for the Raiders in this NFL betting lines matchup against the Broncos.
