This coming Sunday the 14th of Dec. 2014 at 4 PM ET the Denver Broncos 10-3 (1st AFC West) pay a visit to the San Diego Chargers 8-5 (2nd AFC West) with the game being played at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California with the game on CBS TV, with the Broncos favored in the game at -4 with the O/U 50 ½ and ML -210 with comeback ML +175 on the Chargers.
This game between the Broncos at the Chargers could be a deciding point for the AFC West Division title. In fact if Denver wins the game, it would clinch the Division Title for them. The Broncos won the first meeting of these two teams, back in October 35-21, but the Chargers are expected to be a tougher task for the Broncos in this game. Matter of fact in 2013 week 5 the Chargers beat the Broncos 27-20.
But according to those in the know, there are some predictions as to why the Broncos will win the AFC West Title for the 4th consecutive year.
First, this will be the week the Broncos restart their passing game with Receiver Demaryius Thomas, whom had a big game against the Chargers back Octobers with, his 8 receptions for 185 yards, and its expected he will have a better game this Sunday. That along with their other TE Thomas (Julius) is back from injury, and they expect a big game from him, who has 12 touchdowns this season, but has been out of action since week 10.
Then the Denver defense seems to have the Chargers covered as in their last game they controlled the Chargers QB Rivers and their offensive game. They only managed 2 sacks but they gave Rivers problems all day, making some six hits on him. The defense also made 7 tackles for Charger losses, and block 7 passes in the game, and forced QB Rivers into throwing 2 interceptions in that game. It is expected they will have a repeat performance, and possibly get another sack. It is expected that Broncos defensive coordinator Rio will up the pressure and call for more blitzes than QB Rivers is accustomed to seeing, as he targets their interior offensive line, and they will have to stay on alert, along with the RBs who will have to pick up the Bronco blitz. Therefore, another prediction is that the Broncos will make two interceptions on QB Rivers as well as a fumble. Now that’s a big if?
On Sunday their rookie of Duke Fame Thompson will break for a TD, as he did last week in his 47 yarder against Buffalo. This addition gives the Broncos a different look, as well as an offensive scheme. This TD, possibly longer than 50 yards, may come late in the game, but it will be the score that seals the Broncos victory in the game.
