Cardinals at Panthers NFC Title Betting Preview

Now that the 2015-16 NFL playoffs have reached the Conference Title games, we thus have 2 playoff games on Sunday the 24th of January 2015 with the AFC and NFC both playing their Title game on that Sunday. Now we will preview the 2nd game of that Sunday that is the 14-3 Arizona Cardinals playing the 16-1 Carolina Panthers with the game being played at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina with the kick-off scheduled for 6:45 PM ET and seen on FOX TV.

If you are one to Bet on NFL the early odds are favoring naturally favoring the Carolina Panthers at -3 -120 with the Over/under at 47 and -165 on the Money Line, while the underdog Arizona Cardinals are at +3 EV and +145 on the ML.touchdown

This will be the 2nd consecutive NFL postseason that the Cardinals and the Panthers face off, as last year it was the wild card game, and this year the NFC Title game with the winner moving on to the NFL Final.touchdownThe Cardinals luckily beat the Packers in OT last week, while the Panthers beat the Seahawks on Sunday of last week.

The fans of the Arizona Cardinals are wondering about their team, whom for the past 2 games has not looked the same. In Week 17 they got mauled 36-6 by the Seahawks of Seattle, and again in their win over the Packers they struggled once more.

In the Packers game they had trouble with their ground game and defensive had a hard time stopping the run. Then they had to overcome the Packers Hail Mary game to win the game in OT 26-20.touchdownQB Palmer and the offense in this upcoming Title game will be facing a more progressive defensive unit of the Cardinals, as well as an offense that is ranked 2nd in the NFL in scoring some 30.6 points per game this season.touchdown

With a talent WR corps of J. Brown, M. Floyd and L. Fitzgerald they will move the ball against the Panthers. WR Fitzgerald in this postseason has 8 receptions for 178 yards and the winning TD of the game against the Packers. In his 8 playoff game in his career he has 10 touchdowns for 915 yards.touchdown

The Cardinals on defense can be very aggressive and can shut down a couple of the Panthers offensive players in TE G. Olsen and their Carolina running game.touchdown

If you’re a fan of the Carolina Panthers surely you know your team in their game with Seahawks scored all their 31 points in the 1st half of the game and the win and now are playing in their 1st Title game since back in the 2006 season.touchdown

It was not a big day for QB C. Newton, but the Panthers running back had a great day as they rushed for some 145 yards and 2 touchdowns, as J. Stewart returning from injury had 19 carries for 110 and scored both of the Panthers touchdowns in that game. While QB Newton completed 16 of his 22 passes for 160 yards and without a TD. The defense forced 2 fumbles in the game and returned I recovered fumble for a TD.

Overall their QB Newton, likely an NFL MVP prospect this season has had a great season as he has passed for 35 touchdowns while rushing for 40 touchdowns this season and led the NFL scoring offense that has averaged some 32 points each game this season. He has the dual-threat ability that keeps the opponent’s defense confused.touchdownIn the playoff game against the Cardinals last season QB Newton passed for 2 touchdowns and 199 yards and rushed for some 36 yards in that victory 27-16 over the Cardinals.touchdown

This season the Panthers will confront a stronger offensive unit of the Cardinals over what the experienced last year, but their defense has also approved in comparison. This season the Carolina defense was ranked 6 in scoring defense allowing 19.4 points each game and 1st in forced turnovers with some 39 in the season.

With a strong home field advantage and a strong defense that seemed to collapse in the second half of the Seattle game, the Panthers will be hard to beat at the Bank of America Stadium and considering that in their last 12 games this year they are 12-0 and during their ultimate 5 home game they have averaged scoring some 37.5 points in each of those game.

The sports betting prediction for this NFC Title game is that the Arizona Cardinals play a great game but in the end the Carolina Panthers overcome to win the game 30-27 and move on to the Super Bowl 50!
