Burress Indicted, Pierce Cleared – Football Betting

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Football betting tells us that former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was indicted on Monday on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment.

Online football betting has Burress hoping to find a team to play with this season but that seems unlikely.  The Giants will miss Burress this season but they are still considered one of the Super Bowl football betting favorites in 2009.

Football betting odds on the Giants won’t be impacted by this news since Pierce was not indicted.  Online sports betting has Burress not playing in the NFL right now and it is questionable whether he will ever play again.  Football betting has him looking at a minimum sentence of 3.5 years if convicted and even if he reaches a plea bargain agreement to avoid trial he is looking at a 2-year sentence.

The online football betting numbers on the Giants wouldn’t have been affected by the absence of Pierce but the Giants would have suffered.  Pierce is considered one of the top linebackers in the league by football betting experts.  Sports betting info tells us that Pierce was at the nightclub when Burress shot himself and he was involved but not enough to face criminal charges.

Football betting info tells us that Burress is looking at some serious jail time, especially since he has already admitted to the charges.  Burress was trying to reach some sort of deal where he wouldn’t have to serve jail time but that is now extremely unlikely as football betting has it.  In fact, anything less than a 2-year sentence is highly unlikely as football betting info indicates.  Online football betting information tells us that the district attorney’s office said a standard plea bargain deal is two years.

The Giants are glad this mess is over for them as they get ready for the football betting season.  They don’t have to worry about not having Pierce and Burress is already a football betting afterthought. "Antonio is a leader on this team, but he is still human, and this has been an emotionally draining experience for him,” general manager Jerry Reese said.

The Giants are still considered one of the football betting favorites to win Super Bowl XLIV.  They are also one of the favorites in online football betting in the very competitive NFC East.  Online football betting odds have them listed at 9-1 to win the Super Bowl.
