Pittsburgh Steelers

The AFC North is being dominated by the Steelers.  To show the Steelers are 7-2-1 straight up, 6-3-1 against the spread, with a 6-4 mark on totals.  Last Sunday Pittsburgh scored a 20-16 playoff revenge win at Jacksonville.  Although it was a push it extended the Steelers unbeaten streak on the board to six straight games.  At the beginning of the season Pittsburgh’s defense struggled badly.  Yet it has completely flipped the script to become one of the best.  More emphatically Pittsburgh ranks sixth in the NFL defensively.  Likewise, they rank fourth for scoring offense.

Denver Broncos

Despite last week’s win Denver is still languishing.  The Broncos are 4-6 straight up, 4-5-1 vs. the odds, and 3-6-1 under the total.  On the whole Denver has shown vast improvement on offense to rank 11th in the NFL.  Of great concern is a defense that ranks 22nd in the league.  Although quarterback Case Keenum has been inconsistent he has improved the position compared to last year.  In view of two straight losing seasons does coach Vance Joseph sit on a very hot seat.

Stats to Consider

Pittsburgh has been a subpar NFL bets value as a road chalk.  In fact, the Steelers have covered just three of their last nine laying points away from home.  Eight of Pittsburgh’s last 10 as road chalks have gone under the total.  Counter to that is Denver’s good board record as a home dog.  The Broncos have covered six of their last nine as a pup at Mile High.  And their last three in that role have gone under the total.

Team vs. Team

Denver has dominated the sportsbook Cashier’s cage in their series with Pittsburgh.  To illuminate the Steelers have paid in just one of their last seven games with the Broncos.  Nine of the last 12 in this series have gone over the total.  Additionally, Denver has been profitable at Mile High against Pittsburgh.  The Steelers have gotten the cash in just one of their last five visits to Denver. And four of the last six between these teams at Mile High have gone over the total.

Matchup to Watch

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is the NFL bets matchup difference.  Fashion Big Ben’s 96.9 quarterback rating with 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.  Owing to Le’Veon Bell’s hold out has James Conner flourished.  Indeed, Conner is averaging 4.6 yards per carry with 10 touchdowns.
