NFL Week 12 ended with an extra game on Monday night, the 24th of November. The Buffalo Bills regularly scheduled game was snowed out, so the NFL rescheduled the game for Monday night at Ford Field in Detroit. The 5-5 Buffalo Bills played the 2-8 New York Jets and blasted them out in Detroit, 38-3.

The scoring in the game started in the 1st quarter with the Bills scoring 7 points, while the Jets scored their only 3 points of the game in the 1st quarter, the rest of the scoring was all by the Bills with 7 points in 2nd quarter, thus going to half-time with Bills 14 Jets 3. In the 3rd the Bills scored 17 points, and in the final 4th quarter they scored another 7 points bringing the game final at Jets 3 Bills 38.

Actually the now 6-5 Bills had one of their best performances of this 2014 season, with some key plays from their special teams in their 38-3 over the Jets, since the heavy snow in Buffalo moved the game to Detroit.

The Bills offensively were led by QB Orton who completed 24 of his 32 passes for 230 yards with 2 touchdowns, while being sacked 1 time for a loss of 10 yards. RBs Dixon & Jackson combined for 22 carries for 86 yards with Dixon scoring 1TD and Jackson scoring 1 TD. Receivers Wood & Watkins combined for 12 receptions for 153 yards with Woods scoring 1 TD. The Bills had 21 first downs on 62 plays for 336 total yards, with 220 passing and 116 rushing, while possessing the ball for 30:54 minutes of the game.

The Jets had hoped to win this game for the sake of their Coach Rex Ryan which could possibly save his job, but their hope was crushed by a completely loss to the Bills, which was somewhat embarrassing, and may have sealed his elimination. It was just 2 months ago he said he would get fired if he could not improve the Jets record this 2014 season, and since then the Jets are 1-5, and that will made any decision by the owners fairly simple.

The games offensive leaders for the Jets in this game were QBs Smith & Vick, with Smith completing 10 of 12 passes for 89 yards, while being sacked 2 times for 9 yard total loss, and Vick who completed 7 of 19 passes for 76 yards with 1 interceptions, and was sacked some 5 times for total loss of 30 yards. RB’s Johnson & Ivory combined for 14 carries for 71 yards and no touchdowns, while Receivers Kerley & Decker combined for 9 receptions for 129 yards with no touchdowns. The Jets managed 11 first downs on 57 total plays for 218 total yards, with 126 passing and 92 rushing with one turnover, while possessing the ball for 29:06 minutes of the 60 minute game. The Jets only score in the game was a 1st quarter 27 yard FG by Jets kicker Folk with 1:01 left in the quarter.
