The Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills have one major problem. Specifically, the Kansas City Chiefs have blocked the Bills and Ravens from taking that final big
betting on NFL step. Still, there is a sense that the Chiefs’ dynasty may be coming to a close. In turn, the Bills and Ravens are seen as the top two choices to replace Kansas City as the best in the AFC. NBC Sunday Night Football gets a gem of an opener with the Bills hosting the Ravens in what could be a playoff preview. Gambling action is already intense for this matchup.

Baltimore Ravens Team Overview
Last season, the Ravens may not have been considered elite with gamblers. However, they are now offshore betting favorites. They added three talented defensive backs and a promising edge rusher to help address their defensive issues. Pairing that with an explosive offense and a great coaching staff will give Baltimore a great chance to win the Super Bowl this year.
Namely, Lamar Jackson had a better outcome following his second MVP trophy than he experienced after winning his first. Jackson threw for 4,172 yards and maintained an insane touchdown-to-interception ratio of 41:4. Also, he led the league in YPA among qualifiers at 8.8, and he scrambled for 915 yards. Some thought he would win the MVP award a third time, but it went to Josh Allen instead.
Certainly, it helped Jackson that he had a massive upgrade in the backfield. Derrick Henry was acquired from the Titans and made an immediate impact. He rumbled for 1,921 rushing yards and a league-leading 16 touchdowns. It was challenging for teams to defend him, given that they also had to worry about Jackson’s elite scrambling ability. Of great concern is that Henry is now 31, but there is no indication that he is slowing down.
Buffalo Bills Team Overview
As long as Josh Allen remains healthy, the Bills will be in the mix for a playoff spot and a potential championship. Finally, the question is if they’ll be able to overcome the Chiefs. Buffalo added six new defensive linemen. Meanwhile, Kansas City lost Joe Thuney. Hence, there’s a good chance the Bills will finally vanquish their archenemy come January.
Of major concern is Buffalo’s offense entering the 2024 season. The narrative was that the Bills lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis in the offseason and didn’t find a replacement at the position outside of second-round pick Keon Coleman. So, they wouldn’t be very productive on this side of the ball.
Yet, this turned out to be completely incorrect. The Bills scored the second-most points in the NFL and earned the No. 2 seed in the AFC. They did so via Josh Allen, who was a one-man show last year, rightfully claiming the MVP award in the process. In sum, Allen accounted for 40 touchdowns, 28 through the air and 12 on the ground. He threw just six interceptions and led the NFL in QBR with a 77.3 score. It was quite an impressive season for a quarterback with no receiving talent.
