Atlanta Falcons at New England NFL Betting

NFL betting on Sunday has a marquee game in New England as the Patriots host the Atlanta Falcons. The Patriots come into the game at 1-1 but they are favored in NFL bet numbers against the 2-0 Falcons.NFL betting has the Patriots a four-point favorite with a total of 44.5. That number may seem high considering New England could easily be 0-2 heading into this game. They were fortunate to win in Week One against the Bills and last week against the Jets were really dominated. The  Atlanta Falcons on the other hand have looked great in NFL betting in two straight weeks. Last week in NFL betting the Falcons handled Carolina 28-20 as Matt Ryan threw for three TDs. As good as Ryan was he still believes he needs a lot of work. “I think I’ve got a long way to go,” he said, “Something I learned when I was young is that the tape is never as good as you think it’s going to be and it’s never as bad.”

The Falcons are 2-0 for the first time since the 2006 NFL bet season. After two games, the Falcons are averaging 23.5 points per game as NFL betting stats show. Not all is positive for the Falcons as NFL betting notes. The Falcons put rookie defensive tackle Peria Jerry on injured reserve and signed rookie defensive tackle Vance Walker off the practice squad. Losing Jerry hurts since he had started both games on the defensive line.

The Falcons head into what should be a tough game at New England. The Patriots have not played well in two straight weeks. Against the Jets they had to settle for three Stephen Gostkowski field goals as the offense put up no touchdowns. “We know the ability we have as a team and as an offensive unit,” running back Sammy Morris said, “We can be better than we showed.”

Atlanta has been pretty solid in NFL betting in September as they are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in September. The Patriots might seem like the right side for those making an NFL bet but New England struggles at home laying points. The Patriots are 3-11 in NFL betting in their last 14 games as a home favorite.

The NFL betting total trends are interesting. The Under is 37-15-1 in the Falcons last 53 road NFL bet games but the Over is 4-0 in NFL betting in the Patriots last 4 home games.
