Last year the Detroit Lions finally proved they belong. Following decades of futility, the Lions were a near-miss for the Super Bowl. Now, expectations have flipped with the NFL Betting Odds. Certainly, in Detroit, Lion fans have Super Bowl demands and expectations. At the beginning of summer future market action, the Lions were one of the most popular teams. Detroit will have a level of confidence that they have never had before. But the NFC will not be a cakewalk. 2024 Detroit Lions Preview
On the whole, the Lions want everyone to know that the sports betting party is just getting started. Detroit won their first division title in 30 years. And winning multiple playoff games in the same season for the first time in the Super Bowl era. Now, Lions general manager Brad Holmes bristled at the idea Detroit’s run to the NFC title game was some sort of fluke.

For the second straight offseason, coordinator Ben Johnson turned down head-coaching opportunities to stay in Detroit. Cause of unfinished business. At the same time, they were scoring 30 or more points 11 times, including two playoff games.
Johnson also has helped quarterback Jared Goff reach another level in the prime of his career. To summarize, Goff threw for 4,575 yards and 30 touchdowns. Also, he posted a career-best completion percentage (67.3) and didn’t miss a snap all season. He won over the fanbase with his play and his playoff moxie. Including a full-circle win over Matthew Stafford and the Rams in the NFC wild-card round. The 29-year-old was due for a hefty contract extension this offseason.
This is uncharted territory for the Lions, defending a division title and openly talking about Super Bowl aspirations. But thanks to Holmes’ draft savvy, Detroit does have one of the NFL’s most complete rosters. Additionally, no team has a better sense of identity and buy-in than Dan Campbell’s Lions.
Of great concern is that the schedule gets tougher. But it is for a team that won at Kansas City, Green Bay, Tampa Bay, and New Orleans last season.
