NCAA point spread data shows that East Carolina and Central Florida were the two top teams against the NCAA football point spread in 2008. East Carolina went 8-5 ATS while Central Florida was 8-6 versus the NCAA point spread in 2008. NCAA football point spread numbers show that Rice was the top over/under team in scoring games as they went 10-1 in terms of overs. The top under team was Houston who went 4-8 in over/unders versus the NCAA point spread. East Carolina was definitely a surprise versus the NCAA football point spread and they could continue that success in 2008.

Southern Miss will undergo major changes with Jeff Bower now can and Larry Fedora in. Fedora will get the offense untracked and Southern Miss could be exciting to watch in terms of NCAA point spread numbers in 2008.
Memphis is an exciting team to watch but not always for the right reasons. They give up a ton of points and must improve if they want to contend for a league title and impact the NCAA point spread. They have to replace quarterback Martin Hankins and that won’t be easy. UAB was too young to compete much in 2008 but should be improved in 2008 versus the NCAA point spread with a lot of returnees.
Central Florida is headed in the right direction and even without running back Kevin Smith they are on the right track. They won last year’s Conference USA title and could do the same again in 2008. Houston loses head coach Art Briles to Baylor but they have good offensive talent returning. Tulsa should again score with a high powered offense and impact the NCAA football point spread.
Rice will score a ton of points again and probably be a good over team again in 2008 versus over/under NCAA point spread numbers. If they could just stop anyone they would be so much better versus the NCAA point spread.
SMU has a new attitude and new hope with head coach June Jones taking over after coming from Hawaii. Look for SMU to score a lot more and be exciting versus the NCAA point spread. UTEP has no defense and Mike Price has made some major changes. It will be interesting to see if any of them work versus the NCAA point spread. Price might be facing a must win season at UTEP. Tulane loses 2,000-yard rusher Matt Forte to the NFL and will have to find a way to replace him. The schedule is not easy and Tulane may struggle versus the NCAA point spread. Marshall has done nothing in recent seasons and hasn’t had a winning year since 2003.
