Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Michigan State Spartans College Football Betting

Tulsa has slowly degenerated into a betting on College Football loser since the departure of head coach Todd Graham in 2010.  While there have been occasional flashes the Golden Hurricane has fallen upon hard times recently.  To show Tulsa finished 2-10 in 2017 and 3-9 in 2018.  Now head coach Philip Montgomery is on the hot season with significant progress required to keep his job.  Michigan State has also slipped since their 2015 playoff berth.  Sparty limped into the minor Redbox Bowl last year because of a dreadfully plodding offense.  Accordingly, head coach Mark Dantonio shuffled his coaching deck.

A Hurricane of Not so Golden Misery

Last season Tulsa posted a betting on College Football record of 3-9 straight up, 5-7 against the spread, and 4-8 under the total.  In view of a passing game that ranked a dreadful 109th does the story begin.  This lack of production put a strain on the rest of the team.  Baylor transfer quarterback Zach Smith Jr was expected to ignite the passing game.  Namely running back Shamari Brooks (967 YDS, 4.3 YPC, 7 TD) is a top weapon.  QB Seth Boomer (120.4 RTG, 9 TD, 4 INT, 1378 YDS) will compete with Smith.

Sparty Determined

Following a lackluster 7-6 record and Redbox Bowl loss Michigan State had to look at the man in the mirror.  Dantonio was loyal to his assistants.  Instead of firing them he kept but reassigned them.  Michigan State’s offense was an eyesore bore.  To illuminate the Spartans ranked 126th for scoring.  By contrast the defense ranked eighth for points allowed.  Sparty was a terrible Sports betting value with only four payouts in 13 games. Quarterback Brian Lewerke’s week six shoulder injury was a key factor in the decline.  However, Lewerke returns healthy for 2019.

Spartan Assets

Above all a healthy Lewerke along with a nasty defense is expected to be a betting on College Football asset for MSU.  Michigan State suffered a rash of injuries in 2018 that was far above the norm.  Commencing with 2010 Michigan State ranked 11th among all Power Five teams for total wins.

Tulsa vs. Michigan State Betting on College Football Picks

In this situation we have an overmatched Tulsa team facing motivated MSU.  Of great concern is the large price for the favorite.  As mentioned earlier Sparty struggles to cover big numbers.
