At the beginning, week 6 offers fans and gamblers a strong card with potentially excellent value to be found. From the SEC, the marquee College Football Betting matchup is the Texas Longhorns at Florida Gators (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN). Also from the SEC is the revenge matchup of the host Alabama Crimson Tide and the upstart Vanderbilt Commodores (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC). This is not your father’s Vanderbilt football program. For that matter, it’s not your dad’s Alabama program either. Alabama was shocked by a stunning loss at Vanderbilt last year, which cost them a playoff berth.
Week 6 College Football Best Bets Overview
Meanwhile, in the ACC, one of the great historical rivalries will renew with the red-hot matchup of the Miami-FL Hurricanes at the Florida State Seminoles (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC). As was the case in the 1980s, both teams are national powers and peaking for a power-packed showdown.
And then in the Big Ten comes a redemption angle. Following a week off, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will try and get back on track with a home game against the Michigan State Spartans (4 p.m. ET, FS1). Nebraska was exposed as not yet ready for prime time in a home loss to Michigan. While Michigan State is also coming off a bye week that followed a loss at USC.
College Football Week 6 Best Bets
Week 6 is an opportunity for gamblers to catch some strong offshore betting situation matchups.
Nebraska -10.5 vs. Michigan State
Nebraska is coming off a bye week that followed a disappointing home loss to Michigan. The Cornhuskers get a shot at redemption against a team that they match up well against. Big Red head coach Matt Rhule believes the Huskers are better than they showed. Dylan Raiola and home field should give the Big Red the edge. Nebraska should seize this redemption opportunity and cover.
Florida +7 vs. Texas
Florida has its share of College Football Betting issues under head coach Billy Napier, but this could be a good spot for the Gators. Texas enters the swamp as one of the most disappointing teams in college football. Cause by quarterback Arch Manning is not living up to the hype. Manning has been no more than above average.
The Longhorns lack the dynamic look they had last year with Quinn Ewers under center and will be overpriced in this spot. By contrast, Florida is a live dog with chomp in this matchup against an overrated big brand program.
Vanderbilt +14 at Alabama
Last year, Vanderbilt beat visiting Alabama in one of the biggest upsets of the year. Vanderbilt students carried the goal posts all the way down the strip in Nashville to celebrate. This year, Alabama is being touted for the revenge angle.
However, Vanderbilt is even better in 2025 and will receive enhanced value at the betting window. Vanderbilt is the pick. This could be a letdown spot for the Tide after their big win at Georgia last Saturday night.
TCU vs. Colorado
This game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday with television coverage on FOX. The first two years of Colorado football under Deion Sanders offered some hope and a bowl berth with the dynamic combination of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. But those days are over.
Now, Coach Prime is recovering from a bout with cancer and a roster that is outclassed by almost every team it faces. TCU is back in College Football Playoff form under head coach Sonny Dykes and looking dominant. Horned Frogs are to roll in this one. TCU will be motivated to atone for last week’s loss at Arizona State. At the same time, Colorado struggled to find its footing last week in a home loss to BYU.
Week 6 SBG Best Bets: Nebraska, Florida, Vanderbilt, TCU.
