South Carolina at NC State – College Football Betting

College football betting has North Carolina State hosting South Carolina on Thursday night in a rematch of last year’s game when the Gamecocks won 34-0. A much different outcome could be on tap on Thursday as the Wolfpack are favored in college football betting online. College football betting has NC State a 4.5 point favorite with a total of 46 at the sportsbook.  The college football betting line looks different than it did last year since NC State is considered a sleeper in the ACC this season while South Carolina looks to be in trouble.

The Wolfpack have All-ACC quarterback Russell Wilson returning in addition to a lot of defensive talent.  Last year the Wofpack handed the game to South Carolina on a platter as they threw four interceptions in the first half.  This year it should be different since Wilson was not the starter in that game.  Wilson took over mid-season and was great. In the last six games he threw 12 TD’s and no interceptions as college football betting stats show, and led the Wolfpack to a bowl.  Last season the Wolfpack gave up 26 points per game in the ACC but they should be much improved this college football betting season.

South Carolina is in the hands of sophomore quarterback Stephen Garcia.   That may not be good news since he has yet to live up to his advanced billing in college football betting.  There is nothing behind him though so the Gamecocks will live and die with Garcia.  South Carolina should have a better running game with Jarvis Giles but with head coach Steve Spurrier it is all about the quarterback.

South Carolina was very good defensively last season as college football betting numbers indicate.  They will not be as good this year since they lost Jasper Brinkley and a lot of other talent in the secondary.  College football betting indicates that they will be looking for true freshman Stephon Gilmore to start right away.

South Carolina has won their last nine openers in college football betting but the college football betting online odds at the online sportsbook are not in their favor on Thursday at NC State.  The Gamecocks are 2-5 against the college football betting number in their last 7 non-conference games. The Gamecocks are 2-6 against the sportsbook number in their last 8 road games.

The Wolfpack are 7-0-1 in college football betting online in their last 8 games overall. The Wolfpack are 4-0 against the college football betting odds in their last 4 home games. The Wolfpack are 2-7-1 in college football betting in their last 10 non-conference games.
