Soaring Ducks Bet on College Football Favorites at Arizona

Oregon Ducks vs. Arizona Wildcats

Although Oregon has shown marked improvement under new head coach Mario Cristobal that has not translated into wagering value.  As a matter of fact, the Ducks have been a risky team to Bet on College Football with.  Likewise, their loss last week at Washington State proved they are still not ready for prime time.  Meanwhile it has been a season of profound disappointment for Arizona and new head coach Kevin Sumlin.  Of great concern is the horrible regression on offense by the Wildcats.  Not withstanding the ankle issues to quarterback Khalil Tate, the unit has a multitude of problems.

Oregon vs. Arizona TV Coverage: ESPN

Arizona Wildcats

Arizona is just 3-5 straight up and 4-4 vs. the odds with six of their games going under the total.  Last week the Wildcats actually got the money in a 31-30 loss at UCLA as 10-point dogs.  Owing to an offense ranked 76th for scoring is where disappointments begin.  In addition, the Wildcats defense ranks 106th overall in the country.  Khalil Tate’s status is day to day with an ankle issue.  But even when Tate has been in the lineup he has struggled with Sumlin’s new system.  More emphatically many believe Sumlin is what has shut down Tate.

Oregon Ducks

Oregon enters this matchup with a record of 5-2 straight up but just 2-5 vs. the line.  Additionally, the Ducks have gone under the total four times.  Last Saturday Oregon suffered a 34-20 loss at Washington State.  With the loss the Ducks fell to 2-2 in Pac 12 Conference play.  Cristobal has jumpstarted the Oregon offense which ranks 14th in the country for scoring.  On the other hand, the Ducks defense ranks 68th for points allowed.

Stats to Consider

Oregon has been an unreliable bet on College Football value in road games recently.  As a matter of fact, the Ducks have paid in just three of their last 13 away matchups.  Nine of Oregon’s last ten away games have gone under the total.  Balanced against that is Arizona’s subpar betting value at home.  To illustrate the Wildcats have paid in just seven of their last 17 games at Arizona Stadium.   Three of Arizona’s last five home games have also gone under the total.

Team vs. Team

Oregon has had the recent sportsbook edge in their series with Arizona.  To bring to light is the Ducks 4-2 mark vs. the odds against the Wildcats.  Five straight meetings between these two teams have gone under the total.  However, at Arizona Stadium the Wildcats have held their best head to head value.  In fact, Arizona has covered four of their last five home games against the Ducks.  Two of the last three in this series at Tucson have gone over the total.

Matchup to Watch

In view of Arizona’s recent Bet on College Football value issues they cannot rate a recommendation.  Cause by Oregon’s superior offense is the matchup advantage.  Along the same lines the Wildcats lackluster offense cannot keep pace against the Ducks.
