With the NCAA Football Week 2 history, let’s take a look at the Top 5 teams and how they made out with their second games of the 2014 NCAA Football season. NCAA Football Florida State Beats Citadel Bulldogs
The No. 1 team, the Florida State Seminoles played their second game of the season, and first home game of the season with the unranked Citadel Bulldogs. That was an over estimate by the odds makers as it was evident that the Seminoles once in the lead would play freshman and untested varsity players for them to gain the needed experience, in the team’s goal of repeating the national championship.

He completed 22 of his 27 passes as the offense scored TDs on all four of his first half drives and in the third quarter two field goals on his two drives giving the Seminoles a 34-0 lead and then he went to the bench.
For the Bulldogs their QB Miller completed just 3 of his 11 passes totaling 46 yards and one TD and he accounted for 61 of the 322 total offensive yards. Eight different players carried the ball for the Citadel in their triple option offense and gained the balance of their offensive yardage.
When Florida State had their first team in the game they drove up and down the field and did not face much resistance. That was why the Citadel Coach Houston said Florida State showed no weaknesses as they have about everything, with size, speed and depth and without a doubt the best team the ever played.
The FSU defensive starters shutout the Bulldogs, then got hit with a string of injuries that they hope are not serious as a defensive tackle and replacement were injured as was their starting nose guard, and their defensive roster includes seven freshman.
Now the Seminoles 2-0 will play Clemson on Sept. 20th in Tallahassee while the Citadel 0-2 travels to Charleston Southern 2-0 for their next NCAA Football game.

NCAA Football Crimson Tide Shuts Out Florida Atlantic Owls
The No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide routed Florida Atlantic and the game was stopped due to lightning with 7:53 left in the game. The media said that the lightning did a better job of stopping the Tide than the FAU Owls did. The opening odds on Alabama were -39.

The Spartans QB Cook had a good first half completing eight passes that were 15 yards or longer and that was the most Oregon has allowed in the last 4 years. However, in the second half had one such completion on 3 attempts. For the game Cook were 29 of 47 for 343 yards and 2 TDs.
The game changing play was when early in the 3rd when QB Mariota spotted receiver Royce 10 yards ahead of him that went for 17 yards and a TD. From that point the game was all Oregon’s. Surprising on 1st downs the Sooners had 26 and Tulsa had but had a big difference in Total yardage with 580 for Oklahoma and 328 for the Golden Hurricanes and the Tulsa turned the ball over some 4 times and lost a fumble.
