Preview of Odds for Texas Tech at No. 24 Oklahoma State

The first game of NCAA football Week 5 features the No. 24 Oklahoma State Cowboys 2-1 (3rd Big 12) hosting the Texas Tech Red Raiders 2-1 (3rd Big 12). The game will be played at the Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma and the Cowboys are favored at -13 ½.

The Cowboys are coming off a 2013 season in which they were 10-3 and played in the Cotton Bowl. Now three weeks after having a very close game with the reigning champs and #1 FSU in their rebuilding year is ranked 24th after losing 33 lettermen and 17 starters from last season.

The Texas Tech team opened their season by beating Central Arkansas 42-35 then a win over UTEP at 30-26 and their 1st loss to Arkansas 49-28 in their 3rd game. In the game against Arkansas the Red Raiders allowed the Razorback 438 yards rushing.

Looking at the comparison of team leaders, the Cowboys QB Garman is 32 of 56 for 559 yards and 4 touchdown’s, RB Hill has 23 carries for 135 yards and receiver Shepard has 5 receptions for 178 yards and 2 touchdown’s. The Red Raiders QB Webb is 83 of 128 for 982 yards and 10 touchdown’s, RB Washington has 40 carries for 214 yards and 1 touchdown while receiver Grant has 20 receptions for 283 yards and 1 touchdown. The conclusion one can draw from the stats, is that the Red Raiders leaders have produced close to double the yardage in 3 games as the Cowboys. The FBS overall rankings have Red Raiders 17th for passing yardage in the nation, 62nd in rushing yardage, 60th for points scored and 112 for opponents points scored. The Cowboys are 47th overall in passing yardage, 57th in rushing yardage 36th points scored and 64th for opponents points scored.
