Nebraska Seen as Potential Betting on College Football Sleeper

At the onset of his hiring as Nebraska head coach Scott Frost was seen as a savior.  Frost was seen as the white knight riding in on his horse to save the day.  A once proud program had utterly collapsed.  Of great concern was the apathy setting in on Cornhusker fans.  Once considered the best supporters in the sport the losing finally took its toll on them.  Frost was the last Husker quarterback to lead the program to the national championship.  Since that 1997 Betting on college football success the Nebraska program has slipped from super power status.

Purging the Life of Riley

At the beginning of Frost’s arrival was the challenge of culture.  Mike Riley’s tenure as Nebraska head coach was an unmitigated disaster.  In fact, Riley did the impossible.  He posted two losing seasons in three years as head Husker.  Nobody in the modern era did that.  Subsequently he was fired after a 4-8 campaign in 2017.  Frost took over a roster that was entitled and soft.  They loved the unaccountable life of Riley they led.  By contrast Frost was the ultimate and much needed culture shock.  Hard work and accountability were the new laws laid down.

From Free Fall to Promise

A clear difference in coaching styles did not translate into immediate Betting on college football success.  Nebraska lost its first six games under Frost.  However uncommitted players continued to depart. Those that remained made the full commitment.  Most important of all the wins began to come.  Nebraska finished with four wins in their final five games.   More emphatically they were getting competitive against the best teams in the land.  Consider a 36-31 loss at Ohio State that they should have won.

Martinez Marquee Man of the Hour

Hours after getting the job Frost made huge headlines by flipping highly coveted quarterback Adrian Martinez.  Initially Martinez was looking at Tennessee.  But Frost sold him on what Nebraska was going to become.  Martinez had an up and down 2019 season of on the job training.  He faced unreasonable hype and Heisman Trophy expectations.

Closing Strong

At the same time, he developed quickly into a quality quarterback.  Consider as a freshman he completed 65% of his passes for 2617 yards and 17 touchdowns.  Furthermore, Martinez was second on the team with 629 yards rushing and eight touchdowns.  Of great concern was all of the punishment that he took.

Help Wanted

Namely the biggest challenge facing Frost is building a supporting cast around Martinez.   A powerful offensive line will be essential for Offshore betting success.  Recruiting has been strong since Frost took over.  Supplementing the optimism is the coach’s strong reputation for player development.

Matchup to Watch

In this situation Nebraska has the favorable Betting on college football matchups of the Big Ten West Division.  Moreover, the division is seen in transition after Wisconsin flopped last year.  Encompassing that is a sense of opportunity for a new division power to emerge.
