NCAA Football – Regular Season Week 2-Bruins at Rebels

If you Bet on College football and are seeking gambling odds on Week #2 of the NCAA FB regular season then you have come to the right place, and in the mean time you can review our preview of the week 2 game between the Bruins of UCLA playing at the Rebels of UNLV with the game being played on Saturday the 12th of September 2015, with kick-off at 7:30 PM ET, and the game is to be played at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada and seen on CBS TV.

The opening odds at SBG have the Bruins of UCLA favored at -29 with the Over/under at 66, while the Rebels of UNLV are the underdogs and + 29 with no early money line available. In week 1 the Bruins and their rookie QB J. Rosen had a victory, while the Rebels lost a half-time lead and lost their season opener. Now we ask, can the Rebels get a comeback win, or will the Bruins chalk up win No. 2?

If you’re a Bruins of the University of California at Los Angeles fan, then you know that your QB Rosen, a true freshman, could not have asked for a better start to his career, as he passed for 3 TD’s and 352 yards in the Bruins win over Virginia 34-16 last Saturday.

In the passing attack of the Bruins, QB Rosen threw to receivers D. Fuller, T. Duarte and K. Clark completing 28 of his 35 passes. Thus, the Bruins with their talented receivers should fare well against the Rebels who in week 1 allowed their opponents some 360 yards and 2 TD’s via the passing game. Also, with 2 capable RB’s in HB Perkins who carried some 14 time and 59 yards, and FB Jamabo had 9 carries and accumulated 79 yards rushing.

The defense for the Bruins also played well in the 1st week, as the front 7 had 5 tackles with DL Vanderdoes leading with 2 tackles, and LB Hollins had 1.75 tackles. In the last 9 road games the Bruins are 9 and 0, but against the spread they are 5 and 4.

Then for the Rebels of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, your team in week 1 had a letdown as they were leading at half-time 17-3 over No. Illinois they struggled in the 2nd half and lost the game 38-30, even as their QB B. Decker had a good game passing for 2 TD’s and some 320 yards via the air ways.

If the Rebels can continue with their passing attack and succeed, they may be able to beat UCLA at home since the Bruins in their 1st game allowed their opponent Virginia some 240 yards passing in that game. UNLV has a couple of receivers who can outperform the Bruins secondary in D. Boyd who has 1 TD of 64 yards and a total of 108 yards receptions, while A. Criswell scored a TD on a reception and had a total of 62 yards receiving.

If QB Decker can improve on his passing completions and the RB’s take some pressure off their QB then the Rebels could surpass the Bruins in the game. In the 1st game UNLV’s running game only averaged 3.4 yards each carry, and RB Whitley ran the ball some 21 times for a mere 67 yards.

Defensively the Rebels in this game may be able to pressure the Bruins QB Rosen, as the Rebels completed 3 sacks in their 1st game with Virginia, result of a good pass rush by T. Lotuelei, P. Vea and S. Sanitoa. The Rebels have struggled however in their last 4 home games as they are 1 and 4 against the spread.

The prediction is that the Bruins of UCLA will beat the Rebels of UNLV but will not cover the spread of -29.
