NCAA Football – LSU vs Syracuse

As we move on into the NCAA Football Regular Season Week #4 we will preview what should be an interesting game between the No. 13 Tigers of LSU (SEC) playing at the unranked Orange of Syracuse (ACC) on Saturday the 26th of September with the game being played at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York with kick-off scheduled for 12:05 PM ET.

The opening odds at SBG for those that Bet on College football have the Tigers of LSU favored at -24 ½ with the Over/under 46 ½ while the Orange of Syracuse are the underdogs at +24 ½ with no early Money Lines available. Yes, the Orange of Syracuse is 3-0 and presently 1st in the Atlantic Division of the ACC; however they now have the No. 13 Tigers who are now 2-0 and have a 5 star RB L. Fournette who almost beat the Tigers of No. 18 Tigers of Auburn himself in the LSU victory last Saturday.

For the fans of the Tigers of LSU, your team had an easy format, as all they did was give the ball to RB Fournette, and he then rushed for 3 TD’s in the game and totaled 230 yards rushing in the 45-21 win over the Tigers of Auburn. That just happened to be his 2nd 3 TD game this season. The LSU offensively was a big factor in his success as the opened running lanes for the RB, and the Auburn defense struggled.

When LSU faces the Syracuse defense the will face a team that has only allowed their opponents and average of 90 rushing yards in each of their 1st 2 games of 2015. If RB Fournette plays like he has in previous games, it’s very likely that he will have the defense of the Orange frustrated trying to halt his rushing potential this coming Saturday.

The Auburn QB B. Harris could have a great game this Saturday, as he will be facing a Syracuse defense that allowed it opponents Central Michigan and Wake Forest a combined 805 yards passing. QB Harris meanwhile in the game last week with Auburn only passed for 1TD in 72 yards passing on 16 attempts, but he had RB Fournette taking the spotlight with his rushing game.

Defensively the Tigers of Auburn will have to focus on the Syracuse RB J. Fredericks who to date has scored 2 TD’s and compiled some 198 rushing yards.

If you’re a fan of the Orange of Syracuse, you are aware that last week your team nearly lost their game with the Chippewas of Central Michigan, and this week take on the No. 13 Tigers of LSU who are win 3 wins and 0 losses straight up.

The Orange got a big lift from the RB’s in the 30-27 win over Central Michigan as they had a combined 2 TD’s on 169 yards rushing. Their leading RB was J. Fredericks as he carried the ball some 11 times for 74 yards and 1 TD on a 4 yard carry in OT to win the game. The passing game of Syracuse brought about 2 TD’s for the Orange on completions totaling some 162 yards.

Since the Syracuse offense is struggling with QB issues that became complicate even more so as back-up QB E. Dungey had a game ending head injury in the Central Michigan game. Then their Coach Shafer used 3rd string QB A. Wilson who passed for 1 TD and had 1 completion on 7 attempts, while 4th string QB Mahoney completed 4 passes for some 20 yards. Therefore the fans will more than likely see the offense revert more to their running game to move the chains. Thus they will expect more from RB’s Fredericks a G. Morris II and they will hope both are at their top performances in this important game for the Syracuse Orangemen.

The prediction for this game is that the Tigers of LSU prove to have too much offensive power and that they will win the game with LSU scoring 42 points to the Syracuse Orange’s 14 points.
